What Is The Difference Between CBD Lotion and Body Butter

Lotions and body butter are just two of the best topical CBD cream remedies. Topical CBD is simply any CBD related goods that can be applied to your skin directly, for example creams, lotion, balms etc. Topical CBD has really picked up in the skin care market in recent years as consumers are beginning to learn more about the potential benefits these products have and then also experience them first hand themselves.
As we mentioned before, two of the leading skin care products are lotion and body butter. In this article we are going to look at what the difference between lotion and body butter is, more specifically with ones containing CBD.
What Is CBD?
CBD, which is the abbreviation of Cannabidiol, is a highly effective compound that is taken from the cannabis plant. It is used as a key ingredient in a lot of products related to skin care and health due to the many benefits that have been discovered in studies.
CBD is completely safe and despite coming from a cannabis plant, to many people’s disbelief, it doesn’t have any psychoactive side effects. The compound within cannabis plants that makes you feel “high” is THC. THC can sometimes be found in CBD but only in such small amounts. In fact, it is actually legal to have THC in products as long as the dose is below 0.3%
The benefits of CBD include:
- Reduces inflammation and redness
- Helps with skin conditions like acne, eczema and psoriasis
- Has antibacterial and antifungal properties
- Helps to clear dead or damaged skin
- Also has mental benefits including improving your mood and behaviour
Lotion Vs Body Butter
CBD lotions and CBD body butter both share similarities as they are both used as moisturisers for the skin. They have the same healing properties and are used for the same purpose which is to improve the overall health of your skin by targeting dead or dry skin, then also to reduce inflammation.
But it is important to note that they do also have some key differences which is why they are products sold separately and not the same. One of the main differences is the texture of the products. Body butter has similar texture properties to normal butter that we used as food consumption. It is a thicker content compared to a lotion which can be described as more watery as there is a higher liquid consistency.
So which one is better? Both are very effective products and you would benefit a lot from using both. Don’t feel like you have to pick between the two, if you would be satisfied using both then by all means do so. If you are quite picky when it comes to texture and you feel you wouldn’t enjoy applying butter to your skin, then it would be fine to just go with CBD lotion in your daily skin care routine. There is a whole catalogue of CBD creams on the market, all with different ingredients and textures, it’s about finding your preference. Why not check out CBD foot cream (50ml, 500g CBD) or if you aren’t a fan of applying CBD topicals to your skin then try CBD capsules.
